You Know It's Bad When ...

You know it's bad when you get a birthday card like this from one daughter , the second gives you a calendar from the year you were born that she'd found at an antique fair , and the third just gives you a giant pot of miracle-promising body lotion .

Oh no! Nearly as bad as the item in our local paper about a car accident, in which the "elderly man, 67" had to be cut free. Elderly man is a year younger than me, and 67 is the age at which some of my friends, nearest and dearest MAY become eligible for their State pension, unless the working age is extended yet again.....

Happy birthday anyway; just remember you're never as old as your children consider you to be.

Dreadful children! May the shoe be on the other foot some day. My oldest daughter wailed, on my fiftieth birthday, "Do you know how old that makes me? That may have been the day I wrote her out of the will.

But everyone knows, old is the new black (well, that's what I'm telling people). Happy birthday!

PS If that body lotion works, I want details.

It's not what they think but how you feel! Anyway aren't we all a lot younger than our mothers seemed at our age? (My own mother didn't make it this far...) Happy belated b'day!

What do they know anyway, there’s plenty of life in the old dog yet. (I should have said ‘bitch’ but there may be people who get that wrong.)
Happy Birthday?

Happy Birthday indeed.

It does disturb me when I see items from my childhood - or even my children's childhood - in museums!

Belated happy birthday! Now remember to USE that miracle-promising cream.

It's getting hard to spot anyone older than me on public transport these days. I did see a sign in Edinburgh yesterday saying, 'There will be no miracles here.' It should have had a display of miracle anti-ageing creams beside it.
But I hope you had a happy day anyway. They meant well.

I sympathise - I wasn't too pleased to get a tube of repair cream for sun damaged skin recently!
