A Happy - If Rather Chilly - Easter !

Sonata:
While Middle Daughter sits at home , lovingly dabbing calamine on Eldest Grandson's impressive collection of chickenpox itchiness , Smitonius and partner , Youngest Daughter and I will be trekking round Amsterdam from restaurant to restaurant , exhaustively cataloguing the availability of ethnic and local delicacies in the city .

We might visit a museum or two , will inspect the trams , check window displays ( though maybe not those in the red light district ) , admire moored barges , vintage clothes shops and the Farmer's market . Yes , I know .... same old , same old . In our defence I have to say that we don't do it that often and there's bound to be a corner we missed last time . And we are toying with the idea of going further afield on Sunday ... Delft maybe , or Gouda .

As long as we don't freeze to death .... it's really rather chilly . I hope you , too , enjoy the Easter break and have sufficient Easter eggs to survive being snowed in , wherever you are . ( We'll all be wearing thermals , I fear ).

P.S. The bird house was made using a free pattern from the Amsterdam quilt shop , Bird Blocks , which they issued for their 5th anniversary in 2008 .

Is chickenpox seasonal? I was just sitting at work listening to someone talk about their kids getting it. Weird to hear that twice in two days, and glad I already got it overwith.

Sounds like a wonderful way to spend a few days, I hope you take some pictures, I for one would like to see them.
Luckily here in Kent we have managed to still have sun today, actually sunbathing heat! While the rest of the country seems to have snow.
Happy Easter.

Same old same old?? I'll swap my same old, same old for yours---how about it?! I'd even send you some of our sunshine and 80 degree [F]weather so you could better enjoy your same old, same old....But I don't thinl the P.O. can do that. Happy Easter anyway!

Well if it's any consolation, there's a chilly whiff in the air here too. Good enough reason for an Easter spent knitting, non? I'll send some telepathic sympathy to the Chickenpoxed One.

Well it all sounds rather splendid to me! Enjoy your Easter. Cold here too but no museums and canals for distraction!

Oh no, not chickenpox! I had it AGAIN when my children had it and spent most of my time sitting in a bath of calamine.

It's been chillier here too after a brief warm spell. Sounds like a brilliant weekend you had planned and, judging by your next post, enjoyed!
