Sloth ... A Progress Report

Sonata:
This new Blogger is a monumental pain . I don't want Google Chrome and can't keep on installing and uninstalling it . Any tips ?
Meanwhile my slothfulness ( St. Thomas Aquinas defines it as torpor but The Catholic Dictionary , rather more accurately, as disinclination to labour ) has been leavened by the odd twitch .
Yesterday , I ventured as far as the center of town and wandered round the vast flea market that is the traditional way to celebrate Queen's Day in Holland . And I didn't buy anything ! Well , nearly nothing ... though three CDs came home with me , possibly to escape the noise and the cascade of chocolate covered rice-cake crumbs the seller was sprinkling everywhere . There was a girl in a beige nylon bunny suit pole-dancing next to the town hall , hundreds of orange sequinned hats and matching feather boas , thousands of children playing the recorder and millions of people eating hamburgers . And a David Attenborough moment when I was surprised by a rubber hippo

Oh , yes . I finished my dog ... and decided that , lovely though Charlotte Rion's book * is , maybe soft toy making might not be my thing . Though my mouse turned out rather better .

And , having discovered a dried up butterfly in the back of a cupboard upstairs

I've been hoovering for hours today which lead to tidying and dusting and throwing things out . Which makes a change which , after all , is supposed to be as good as a rest . But I think tomorrow me and my book are going off on a train . It might be quieter ....

* In case you're interested, it's original title is Doudous à Coudre . ISBN 978-90-5877-930-4 .

I really must do the same, tidy up, dust the book shelves and throw a few (hundred) out. But then I go and sit in my chair, look at the room and think: tomorrow will do. And while I am 'tidying' books, how many will encourage me to linger over their pages a bit?

Waste of time, the whole thing. Best not start at all.

I don't think anyone could blame you for being rubber hippo surprised. I mean, really? Softie toy making IS your thing. You just can't see it yet. Go take another look...

I don't use Blogger except for leaving comments so I can't help, but have you tried some of the forums? Usually somebody will have already had the same problem. I use Firefox as my browser now as it's the only thing Typepad will work properly in!
Love your mouse, are you going to show us the finished bear?

I've been using Google Chrome for some time and most of the time it does its job properly. And for writing blog posts, or posting photos, I use Windows Live Writer which works beautifully. Only I haven't tried it yet with the new 'dynamic' lay-outs Blogger provides. But the 'old' lay-outs and WLW... heaven! Vacuuming? Remind me... what was that again? ;-)

Rattling On .... Ah , you've put your finger right on the soft toy problem . It wasn't a bear , it was a dog !

I gave up on toy making after an attempt at knitting a teddy bear resulted in something which would have looked at home in a horror film. Some quiet time with a good read sounds a good idea after all of that housework.

Uh... is the hippo making anyone else nervous, or is it just me? Creepy freakin' hippo!

That Hippo looks like it was the last straw of what sounds like an extremely surreal experience....a beige nylon pole dancing bunny girl, orange sequins AND chocolate rice cake crumbs? Sounds like hoovering would be a restful alternative!

The hippo made me smile, and I love the mouse!

I quite agree about the new Blogger thing but I can work it (on the simplest level) and I haven't got Chrome, whatever that is. At least... I don't think I have!

I also hate the verification thing. About to try for the third time. Grrr.
