We called the vets in for a home visit, and they were very kind, sensitive and careful. We were able to be with her, and that meant she was at home and comfortable at the end. Our companion for 15 years, and will be missed.

That is what I do, how about I go about doing this last loving act of kindness we can give our furry companions. I so understand when bereaved pet owners say they'll not have more because of the pain of this. Doesn't stop me so far, but it is so awful ♥
Each pet is such a personality . . . that we get to know over the years until we can read each other's thoughts. Closer than any human, really. I am so sorry for the kitty shaped hole in your life right now. I hope you take good comfort from having done a good and helpful thing at the end.
Egads... you are the fourth blogfriend that has posted this same news in the past two months! So, so sorry for your loss, and so very glad your kitty had you to care and be there all the way through.
Oh dear, I am sorry. Better for all of you that it could be at home like this. You know that you did the right thing, but it does not stop you missing her.
So sorry for your loss.... we faced a similar reality when my father's old cat was failing... but before my dad could decide she curled up in a sunny spot in his garden and passed on. He buried her there.
It's hard to loose a furry loved one. They always leave a hole in your life.

Oh how very sad. But so good that she was at home.
May the memories comfort you.
Yes, we called in the vet for the cat; ours hated the cat basket and I just couldn't bear to stuff her inside against her will.
It's harder with large dogs to bury them at home.
I'm sorry you lost her, I know how much it hurts.
Such small creatures leaving such a big gap in the fabric of our lives. Peace.
Sending much sympathy and understanding your way. Such a hard decision, this final act of loving compassion.
Thank you for the comments on my blog. They are lovely. I will let you know where I'll be on wordpress. Polishing spanners today . . .
So very sad but I'm so glad you were able to say your goodbyes at home.
It's awful making that final decision. Glad it was at home with you.
Very hard to witness life slip away, but one wouldn't have it any other way. She was a most fortunate kitty to have you, I think. XX
Sending you a hug......

Oh, I'm so sorry, sending you a virtual hug xxx
That's so sad, especially followed by such an amazing picture.
Oh dear, so very sad, and very hard to have to do. x
Oh I'm sorry. She looks like our Meggie who we farewelled some years ago.
Condolences to you all, x
